What networking in London is actually like

On any weekday night there are dozens of things on, and a sizeable share of them are a sales seminar, a recruitment pitch or a webinar wearing a lanyard. That is precisely why this index throws most of what it finds away: the scarce thing in London is not events, it is a filtered list of the ones worth crossing the city for.

The scenes are geographically real and worth knowing. The City and Canary Wharf skew finance and formal breakfasts; Shoreditch and Old Street skew tech, founders and evening drinks; Southwark and King's Cross sit somewhere between, and increasingly host the bigger set-piece events. A "central London" listing can still be fifty minutes door to door, so the venue matters as much as the topic.
